Incantation streaming new track.

Image
Death metal titans Incantation are about to drop their latest album "Dirges of Elysium" on 10th June and have prepared the world for what is to come by streaming  the track "Carrion Prophecy" via the excellent MetalSucks. The track is an exemplary display of Incantation at their very best and bodes well for the full release.  Anyone who enjoyed "Vanquish In Vengeance" will be  blown away by the sheer fucking savagery of the riff on this track. Head over to MetalSucks to enjoy.

Edguy "Space Police - Defenders Of The Crown" - because credibility and reputation mean nothing!

Hang on, just hang the fuck on! I know, I fucking know! Eminent Silence's posts thus far have focused on some of the filthiest, darkest, murkiest and buttfuck ugly releases known to man.  The last review I posted was Impetuous Ritual's latest release and now we have gone from that grim and harsh wall of hatred to this catchy, hook-laden foot tapper in the space of a fortnight! Fact is, many moons ago I was told "variety is the spice of life" (taste is the enemy of art, blah, blah) which although a massive cliche is actually one of the most valid and relevant pieces of advice I have ever listened to.  There is no real need to justify the support and applause of an Edguy album, for years I never paid them any attention and then two weeks ago I heard "Love Tyger" (see below) and it has been stuck in my head ever since.  It's just such FUN!!  Tongue in cheek, cheesy as fuck......all the phrases you can throw at it make no difference, it's just irresist

Review - Impetuous Ritual "Unholy Congregation of Hypocritical Ambivalence"

First of all I can't review this album without paying homage to the great title.  What better way to sum the direction and attitude of this album could have been thought up other than that?  It speaks blunt disdain for its subject matter and prepares you  perfectly for what is to come. The DM genre has taken on a whole new twist in the past few years as bands like Impetuous Ritual, Antediluvian, Aevangelist and of course Portal have continued to add their own individual blends of horror, sheer depravity and despair to the style yet still manage to retain the pummeling fury that DM fans are so familair with. "Unholy..." is extraordinary in that it opens up by immediately ripping your face off before gradually grinding it in to the murkiest, filthiest and dirtiest shit pile it can find before dancing all over it!  This pace continues for the first 3 tracks and the band take no time to let you draw breath.  The album from the very start demands your attention, it doesn&#

Serpentine Path "Emanations"

Death/Doom maestros Serpentine Path have announced their follow up to 2012's self titled release.  "Emanations" will be released via Relapse Records on 26th May this year (UK/Worldwide).  The 7 tracks on offer here promise to be every bit as crushing as their previous effort.  For those of you not familiar with the line up the band consists of former members of Electric Wizard, Unearthly Trance, Ramesses and Winter.  So yeah, they kinda know their way around a slow riff and some crushing rhythms. The album can be pre-ordered via Relapse at this location. Described as a combination of the filthy riffs of Autopsy and the stoney doom of Sleep this sophomore album should be the shit!
